PARRT meets The Queen!!!

Volunteers from PARRT were invited to a garden party at Alnwick Castle by the Duchess of Northumberland.

The party, held on Wednesday 22nd June, recognised the work of carers and volunteers in Northumberland.

Several of our volunteers had the honour of being presented to The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. The Queen and the Duke both asked our volunteers about the work that we do, and when told that we care for cats and kittens, the Duke responded with good humoured, “YUK!!”- obviously he’s not a cat lover!

The Queen was escorted by Alan Shearer around the castle and gardens much to the delight of the large crowds.

PARRT joined with PAWS volunteers for the Royal meet and greet and were pleased to be interviewed by REAL radio and Tyne Tees and BBC news teams.

  1. It’s great to see you all dressed up for Royalty, well done! Have to say that Charlie dog from Parrt is a fab dog, we love him to bits. Then our two black cats long haired Merlin (was Carling) and short haired Malachi (was Lucky) are two of the best cats I’ve ever owned, so loving and gentle and full of purrs.
You do an amazing job, keep up the good work.
